The Power of Make-Up

Simone_power of makeup

I might be a little late on the bandwagon, after Nikkie posted this video that’s been sweeping up social media these days, but I’ve finally watched it, and I love it!

A friend (pictured above) and I decided we want to do it as well – we love make-up. We love doing it, wearing it, buying it, looking at it, okay you get it…

It isn’t as intense as in Nikkie’s video, but it’s extremely noticeable none the less. (Me above)

Every girl wears some sort of enhancer; if you wear perfume to smell nice, why discriminate against someone who wears make-up to look nice? If you have paintings hanging on your walls at home, what is the purpose other than to enhance the look? Sound in your car, isn’t that also just enhancement of something that is already there?

By no means is this false advertising, we do not advertise ourselves, that would make you a prostitute! We enhance our natural features, it’s a form of art, and it is a personal choice.

You don’t like wearing make-up? Fine by me, I’m not going to judge. Just because it isn’t suited to your needs and wants, doesn’t mean no one else can have it.

And to finish of with – we don’t wear make-up everyday, simply because we don’t always feel like it, or don’t have time for it. Every person who has seen us with make-up, has also seen us without, and there has certainly never been any complaints. (Aside for the occasional lipgloss smear on clothes)

SACBW Youth Project

Last night I had the honor to attend the South African Council for Business Women PJ’s and Pillow Talk event as part of the 10 finalists in the SACBW Youth Project Competition.

As the PJ’s and Pillow Talk event was hosted in June, they thought it appropriate to host a competition for young business minded ladies as ourselves, and offer us amazing oppurtunities.

*All of those tables were filled!

We had the chance to meet and mingle with business women of all ages and ethnicities, from various businesses as well.

We had an amazing dinner and even better dessert (obviously), the arena was beautifully decorated (thanks Emnotweni Sun), and the cash bar was a bonus! (Queue tequila)

I met some fantastic young ladies; Lindelwa (Lee), a model/ / / , Nomsa, fashion designer and owner of her own business and fashion line Angelique’s, Sanel, a Financial Information System graduate, Adante’, a graphic designer and aspiring photographer, Adriana, the quintest 20 year old chef, and many more.

And not only was I lucky enough to have met these amazing ladies, but I won First Prize for my essay on my passion, charity work and business! I was blessed to have received spa vouchers from FreyJa, a ticket to a 4 hour Performance Booster Seminar and last but not least, a bursary for a Business Course at the local Unigrad!

Looking forward to many more endeavors with my new friends.11052872_699470150182090_5300051402074726760_n

Kaapsehoop – Mei 2015

E-interview with Anne-Mari

Blue Blood Photography

We had the pleasure of working with this up and coming artist on her album design and photo shoot, and we had so much fun – we decided to do a mini-interview with her.

1. ) You have recently released your first album, tell us some more about it.
My album has just been released and I feel so blessed and grateful to all the people who have worked so hard to make it an album that I am very proud of. There are 10 new songs on the album, all of them arranged by Jonathan Peyper who is an excellent blues singer/songwriter.
2.) Which of the songs on the album especially relates to your life?
There are actually a few songs on the album that relates to my life or certain aspects of my life: the first song would be “Special day” – in 2010 my son passed away…

Honey Jewelry Ultimate 2014/2015 Launch

I recently attended the Honey Jewelry and Accessories 2014/2015 Ultimate Launch as a sales consultant, with a friend of mine who is also a sales consultant.

I was surprised to learn that I am in the top 10 AND top 5 consultants of the region, and my friend walked away with top recruiter and top 10 as well.

We wore white, but everyone forgot that it was a masked party, so the masks stayed behind in the hotel room.

Here’s some photos from the function.
